“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”

Malachi 3:10

FAQs

What does your church believe about money?
We believe everything we have comes from God. We are not owners, we're stewards. Tithing is giving back to God what is already His. We return 10% back to Him. If you'd like a more in-depth answer, click here to check out the sermon series Hand in Hand.

What is the difference between a tithe and an offering?
The word “tithe” means one tenth. So when you tithe, you give one tenth or 10% of your earnings. Tithing (10%) is the starting point of giving. Offerings are gifts given above the tithe.
Why should I give money to the church?
Malachi 3:10 says, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” The storehouse today is the local church you are attending. When we all bring our tithe to the church, we have more resources to do God's work in our city and in our world.
What are my giving dollars used for?
Money given to Hub City Church primarily goes to two areas: daily operations and missions.  We spend what we have to on our building and our staff, and we give as much away as we can toward missions such as Disciples' Village and Movies in the Park.
What if we believe we can’t afford to tithe right now?
When you tithe, you are inviting God to be a part of your finances.  Do you want to wait until you're not in any financial trouble for Him to be involved, or do you want Him involved now? It takes faith and trust in God, but when we do what He tells us to do, He blesses us in ways we can't imagine.

Does your church have a budget?
Yes. Our Finance Team works with our staff to come up with a budget based on our ministry goals for the year.
